Check Las Vegas Releases

To find someone released from Las Vegas Detention Center, use the city detention system rather than assuming the county jail held the person. This Clark County, Nevada municipal facility handles city misdemeanor custody and maintains its own information path. A detainee may return to the community or move to CCDC, state corrections, or a federal custodian. The current search alone does not settle which event occurred. A sound Las Vegas Detention Center release check pairs city detention confirmation with the Municipal Court case and, when needed, a city records request that identifies the completed movement.

Las Vegas Release Paths

The City of Las Vegas Department of Public Safety operates this municipal detention center. It is separate from CCDC. The official Detention Services page supplies current inmate information by phone at 702-229-6444, option 3. A city misdemeanor detainee can leave after bail, a court order, time served, or sentence completion. The same building can also send a person to CCDC or another authority. Only the completed city movement tells those outcomes apart.

Las Vegas Municipal Court supplies the legal trail for a city misdemeanor. Its docket may show bail, disposition, sentence, or a release order. That order is not a gate log. Identity work, another case, a detainer, and normal release processing can delay exit. When a movement says transfer, use the named receiver. CCDC has a separate lookup, NDOC handles a state commitment, and federal custody requires the relevant federal route.

Confirm Las Vegas Release Records

Start with the city, not the county roster. Call the inmate-information number with the full name, birth date, city case number, and inmate ID when known. Ask whether the city booking remains open. If it closed, ask for the actual departure time, release disposition, and receiving agency. A name that is absent from current information can be a useful clue, but it is not proof of community release.

  1. Gather the person’s full name, birth date, city case, and inmate ID.
  2. Call 702-229-6444, option 3, for current detention status.
  3. Ask whether the booking ended and whether custody transferred.
  4. Check Las Vegas Municipal Court for the case disposition.
  5. Follow any named receiving agency in its own system.
  6. Request the city movement record when written proof is needed.
City custody limit: an absent current record does not prove return to the community. Confirm the city movement and any transfer.

The Clark County released-inmate search and records routes are covered in full on the Clark County release search. For a state commitment, switch to the NDOC search. Its Demographic, Alias, Booking, Parole, and Release data are separate domains. Parole means release from prison with supervision still in force, while discharge generally marks the end of the controlling corrections term unless another obligation applies.

Request Las Vegas Release Records

Send the request to the City of Las Vegas custodian, not Clark County’s general portal or LVMPD’s CCDC route. Identify the Las Vegas Detention Center, full legal name, inmate number, city case, and a narrow booking range. Ask for the existing booking and release or movement record, including actual release date and time, disposition, and destination when public. A focused request is easier to locate and redact.

A focused city request should identify the booking sheet, actual release date and time, disposition or destination, transfer agency when public, and booking photograph if needed and disclosable. Municipal Court records should be requested from that court, since the court file explains the authority while the city detention movement records the exit.

Use the City of Las Vegas public-records channel for a detention record. Do not route a Las Vegas municipal booking through the CCDC Letter of Incarceration process unless the city reports an actual transfer to CCDC and a separate county booking exists.

Las Vegas Archived Release Records

The short online trail should not be confused with the government records trail. Nevada’s local-government retention schedule preserves jail inmate case files, including entry and release records, transfer material, orders, fingerprints, mugshots, work-release records, and prerelease agreements, for 85 calendar years after release or transfer or until confirmed death, whichever occurs first. The schedule is a minimum, and a legal hold can suspend destruction.

Other schedules are shorter. Jail registers that include release or transfer dates are retained for five years. Release orders are kept for three years after release, with a copy placed in the inmate file. Current rosters have a 90-day period after update. These rules support a narrow archive request; they do not require web publication or defeat confidentiality, sealing, juvenile rules, or security redactions. Nevada Public Records Act requests generally receive one of the statutory responses by the end of the fifth business day, but that is not a promise that a large request will be completed by then.

Las Vegas Release Location

Las Vegas does not publish individual release times. The city says times vary and are withheld for safety. It does identify 3300 Stewart Avenue as the release location, distinct from the detention facility address at 3200 Stewart Avenue. Family members should not borrow Henderson’s three-batch schedule because those times are specific to Henderson. Call the Las Vegas detention line for current instructions.

For that reason, a bond receipt, a scheduled court event, or anticipated release field should not be treated as an actual gate time. Call 702-671-3900 after bond posts and ask whether any other case or hold remains. Then request the completed movement entry if exact proof matters. Court minutes may show the judge’s authority, yet they may appear before or after the physical exit. The two records answer different questions.

Note: The city bail hotline is 702-229-6460, but detention staff must confirm that release processing ended and identify any transfer.

After Las Vegas Release

The city publishes property-release windows of 8 to 10 a.m. and 8 to 10 p.m. An all-property or all-money release is used, rather than release of selected items. That process concerns property, not proof of custody status. Keep the property transaction apart from the movement record and confirm the exit through detention staff.

After release, a former detainee may contact support@pigeon.ly with a name and ID to download scanned jail mail at no charge. The vendor says originals are held for 45 days. This narrow mail service is not a release database and should not be used to infer the date or reason for departure.

Finally, use Las Vegas Municipal Court for the city misdemeanor trail. If the case moved outside municipal jurisdiction, use the appropriate Justice or District Court. The Las Vegas detention movement remains the source for when the person left city custody and whether another agency received them.
